The Movimento Danza Company was founded in 1984 by the choreographer Gabriella Stazio. She gathered a group of dancers who showed enthusiasm for the spirit of research and experimentation which are at the basis of her creativity. From the artistic point of view, the company started growing at a time of great ferment for the world of theatre and the art of choreography while its members shared some significant work experience. The company's frequent tours abroad (Luxembourg 1990, Tunisia 1990-1997, Mexico 1991, Argentina 1992, China 1992, Norway 1992, Morocco 1992, Venezuela 1992, Spain 1993, Malaysia 1993, Lebanon 1994, Ireland 1994, 1995, 1996, Egypt 1996, Kenya 1996, Ethiopia 1996, California - USA 1997, Finland 1998, Brazil 2000) and the participation in international festivals have contributed to further enrich the Company's experience. Artistic links have thus broadened and some important artistic collaborations have been made.

Its participation in a live TV programme broadcast worldwide and directed by Vittoria Chiappelli and Vittoria Ottolenghi, collaboration with choreographers, musicians and international directors, the creation of exceptional Dance Events on archaeological sites, in museums, parks and historical gardens, the prizes and awards received both in Italy and abroad, have contributed to make the Movimento Danza company one of the most dynamic presences in the panorama of contemporary dance.
