VIDAVÈ Crafts is the choreographic project by Noemi Dalla Vecchia and Matteo Vignali, dancers who in 2020 decided to deepen a common desire of research, with the intention of creating their own choreographic aesthetic. They attended AterBalletto’s NGC Training for choreographers in 2021 while Matteo is a student of Laban Bartenieff Movement System Course. Their first creation Another With You co- produced by Home C.C. of Perugia and DancehausPIÙ C.C.N. of Milan, selected for the Anticorpi XL 2020 Showcase, was presented in numerous Italian festivals between 2020/22 with an European debut in Theater Giessen, gained awards such as ADEB Udine 2021, choreographic mention at Theodor Rawyler 2021 and Prospettiva Danza Teatro 2021 in Padua. Then with the support of Scenario Pubblico C.C.N. of Catania and the production award of Ass. Insieme Arte of Rome, in 2022 they’ve create Hansel & Gretel Alteration, presented at Florence Dance Festival, ARTSite in Turin and with a national debut at Teatro Fontana of Milan. Some excerpts of that creation won the second choreographic award at Linkage 2022 in Stara Zagora Bulgaria, and a participation in SoloTanz Festival 2023 Stuttgart.
The creation has already scheduled a short tour between the spring and summer of 2023. Their third and most recent production called Spoken Dance, which is a container of different pieces, aims to define over the next few years, their true choreographic signature. With two pièce already made “the sound of spoken language” and “choreographic figures”, they participated in OurStories Festival, Ramificazioni Festival, and won Residanza 2022/23 award of Movimento Danza Napoli, with a national debut at Teatro Nazionale di Napoli, and more dates already planned. They often work for commissioned pieces for professional training centers such as Dancehaus, Opificio, VIVO Center, Agorà.

CHOREOGRAPHIC FIGURES
Choreographic figures is one of the many creations contained within Spoken Dance project, a container of choreographic experiments of the similarities and differences between spoken language and movement language, both themes of great interest and inspiration for VIDAVÈ. The Spoken Dance (Danza Parlata) project has born in 2023 and will develop over a long period of time, through various researches, studies and creative actions, with the intent of building a binder of relationships between word and movement, both artifacts of human thought.
In choreographic figures, the attempt is to systematize, with an expressive representation of the body in movement, many rhetorical figures strongly similar in their quality of “artifices of speech” to some modalities of choreographic composition in dance. Chosen from a variety of musical, poetic, literary and political texts, accompanied by an audio track of piano chords, these recorded voices take shape and content through the movement of two performers. Without a precise dramaturgical line, the voices and words, the gestures and movement sequences intends to capture the viewer’s interpretation, which has to find relationships between the two languages. These multiple and short choreographies shares a common imagination, perception and emotion with each of the rhetorical figures associated with them.
