Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 at 6 p.m. at the Korper – National Centre for Dance Production, Naples, will stage the last step of the Italian stage of the creative residency of the project Dancing Together Again! Creative residencies program, realised within the “Creative Europe” programme promoted by the National Institute of Music and Dance Warsaw/Poland, leader of the project, together with the co-organisers of the Arts Research Institute of Tbilisi/Georgia, TRAFIK Dance/Theatre Company of Rijeka/Croatia and Movimento Danza of Naples/Italy.
After a fourteen-day residency at Movimento Danza‘s premises, the participants, divided into four groups, will stage their projects, the fruit of their work sharing ideas, thoughts and practices, having as common denominator the theme of inclusion, the theme chosen for the Italian stage of the project.
To accompany the closing of this stage, the project coordinators will hold a short talk in which they will recount their own experience.
Opening both evenings will be Compagnia Movimento Danza and the Performing Arts Group – Compagnia Giovani Movimento Danza with a choreography by Gabriella Stazio, “Place Is The Space”.

Before the audience we explore the constraints and expectations imposed upon individuals by societal norms and self-negotiation that challenge the boundaries of self-conformity. Through dance we navigate our own experiences of vulnerabilities, perceptions, embarrassments, societal labels, expectations, body discomforts and the struggle for self-acceptance. Within the mass we work on embracing individuality of our identities and different social situations. The layers within solo performances and group dynamics intertwine, revealing the interconnectedness of individual journeys.

Through sharing practices among each other, we entered a series of sessions of exchange of our own interests: Aleksandra’s catching the flow (exploring pleasure through commitment, following personal interest in the specific moment and following the principle, be ready rather than polite”); Isadora’s dysfunctional practice (constructing scores to de-construct the „functional” / linear); and Mikheil’s interest in finding direction through sound.

What If
„What if… is an inclusive dance project that explores the limitless possibilities of movement through the creation and interpretation of one specific and unique score. Drawing inspiration from the poetic solo score “No Time to Fly” by choreographer Deborah Hay, as well as the pioneering and very structured work of Frederic Geis and Andre Lepecki, this project invites participants to engage with dance as a form of collective exploration and expression but also as an individual way to find pleasure within.
At the heart of „What if…” lies the concept of posing questions that begin with: what if. These questions serve as catalysts for creative inquiry and movement discovery, inviting participants of all backgrounds and abilities to embark on a journey of self-expression and collaboration. Each participant is provided with the same set of instructions and descriptions that were created in a collaborative process.„What if…” aims to transcend conventional notions of dance and performance, embracing diversity and celebrating the inherent creativity of every individual. By fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, the project encourages participants to explore new possibilities, challenge preconceptions, and connect with one another through the universal language of movement.
