It was recently concluded in Naples “NU.DA. Live! – Contemporary Choreographic Experiences“, a project that aims to internationalize the careers of young Italian choreographers conceived and developed by Movimento Danza, under the artistic direction of Gabriella Stazio, and winner of Boarding Pass Plus 2022 – 2023 – 2024, a call of the Italian Ministry of Culture that promotes the sharing and exchanges of artistic practices between Italian and international professionals.
Movimento Danza shared this experience with Italian partners AlphaZTL – Compagnia d’Arte Dinamica, directed by Vito Alfarano, and gruppo nanou, a contemporary dance and performing arts company directed by Marco Valerio Amico, and international partners Transitional-fictional Theater, directed by Branko Valenta, for Croatia, the Arts Research Institute of Georgia, directed by Levan Khetaguri, and the Georgian Regional Theaters Network, coordinated by Iuri Mgebrishvili.
The project a provided two work periods in Croatia and Georgia during which 3 choreographers under 35 were accompanied by the artistic directors and cultural operators of the partnership associations to promote their work and exchange visions and practices.
Matteo Vignali, representing the Vidavé duo with Noemi Della Vecchia, presented “Spoken Dance/Choreographic Figures” for Movimento Danza, which was present with artistic director and choreographer Gabriella Stazio and Eleonora Tempesta for coordination and promotion. Vidavé were winners of the Residanza – la casa della nuova coreografia call 2022.
Also for Movimento Danza, as the winner of Residanza – la casa della nuova coreografia call 2021, Claudia Caldarano presented “Piano Solo, Corpo Solo”.
Aurelio Di Virgilio presented “Jeplane” together with the work by Stefania Tansini “My Body Solo”, both artists supported by gruppo nanou, represented by choreographer Marco Valerio Amico for its artistic direction and Domenico Garofalo for artistic co-direction and promotion.
Francesco Biasi brought “Shut up! Toxic Love,” a diptych produced by AlphaZTL, an association present with Vito Alfarano, its artistic director and choreographer, and Giancarlo Quaranta for promotion.
This last step of the project took place in Oct. 2023 in Naples, headquarters of the lead partner Movimento Danza, in a two-days meeting to draw conclusions and project evaluations and lay the ground for long term relations.
In addition, the final public presentation of the project was held on October 20 at 11 a.m. at the Ridotto of the Teatro Mercadante – Teatro di Napoli, attended by all partners in the presence of artists and cultural professionals, and was an important moment of sharing and vision of future collaboration.
