NU.DA. – Nuova Danza / Fabritia D’Intino

Fabritia D’Intino è danzatrice e coreografa.
Si laurea al Triennio presso L’Accademia Nazionale di Danza (Roma), consegue il Bachelor in Dance presso ArtEZ (Arnhem, Olanda) e il Master in Arti Performative MAP_PA (Azienda Speciale Palaexpo e Accademia di Belle Arti, Roma).
Dal 2013 al 2019 coordina il Barcelona International Dance Exchange – BIDE curando le attività in Europa e America.
I suoi lavori coreografici, spesso in collaborazione con altrə artistə, vengono premiati e presentati in diversi contesti internazionali.
Oltre alla creazione per la scena ed il site specific, collabora come danzatrice con diversǝ coreografǝ e artistǝ visivǝ e si dedica allo sviluppo di progetti partecipativi e installativi.
Dal 2018 collabora stabilmente con la compagnia Catsandsnails (Francia) e Chiasma (Roma).

Fabritia D’Intino (ITA, 1986) is a dancer and choreographer.
Graduated with a BA in contemporary dance at Accademia Nazionale di Danza (Rome) and ArtEZ (Netherlands), and completed MAP_PA Master’s degree in performing arts (Azienda Speciale Palaexpo e Accademia di Belle Arti, Roma). From 2013 to 2019 she coordinates the Spanish platform Barcelona International Dance Exchange – BIDE curating the events in Europe and America.
Her activity includes stage performances, public space interventions, participatory projects and research formats. She works mainly in collaboration with other artists and her work has been shown and awarded in different international contexts. As dancer she works for different choreographers and visual artists.
Since 2018 she is dancer  and associated choreographer with ci.e Catsandsnails (France) and Chiasma (Rome).

Wannabe è la prima collaborazione tra la danzatrice Fabritia D’Intino ed il musicista Federico Scettri.
L’incontro tra i due artisti ha stimolato la riflessione sul rapporto tra danza e musica nella cultura contemporanea. I riferimenti si sono così concentrati sull’immaginario della cultura pop, della televisione, dei videoclip e dei club.
Un universo fatto di schemi ripetitivi che ha la capacità di sedurre, attrarre e influenzare lo sguardo dello spettatore e in cui il corpo femminile è rappresentato in forma prevalentemente iper-sessualizzata.
Costantemente esposto a modelli forzati, esagerati e artificiali, chi osserva viene dunque spinto verso la riproduzione e l’esaltazione della finzione, puntando ad un virtuosismo e ad un iper-performatività quasi pornografica.
La scelta artistica è quella di accogliere questa spinta, esplorandola in tutte le sue complicazioni.
In una società che esalta il miglioramento costante, il non fermarsi mai e la volontà di fare ed essere sempre di più, Wannabe si posiziona all’interno di questo moto di allontanamento dalla realtà.
La cultura pop occidentale diventa così base contemplativa del corpo in movimento e della performatività di genere, in un viaggio fisico di riconoscimento e liberazione da alcuni dei codici che identificano i corpi di oggi.
Wannabe è così il motore per andare oltre i propri limiti, verso un essere altro.
Una celebrazione del mainstream che ci nutre e ci muove, malgrado il nostro volere.

Wannabe is the first collaboration between the dancer Fabritia D’Intino and the musician Federico Scettri. The meeting between the two artists prompted a reflection about the relationship between dance and music in contemporary culture.
The references have focused on the imaginary from pop culture, television, video clips and clubs.
A universe of repetitive patterns that have the ability to seduce, attract and influence the viewer and where the female body is mostly presented in its hyper-sexualized representation.
Constantly exposed to unreal, forced, exaggerated and artificial patterns, the watcher is pushed towards the reproduction and exaltation of the fiction, aiming to an almost pornographic virtuosity and hyper-performativity.
The artistic choice is to accommodate this push, and to explore it in all its complications.
In a society that glorifies the leap forward, the non-stopping and the will to do and be more, Wannabe is situated within this dislocated reality.
Western pop culture thus becomes the contemplative basis of the body in motion and of the gender performativity that goes with it, in a physical journey of recognition and liberation from some of the codes that belong to nowadays bodies.
Wannabe is the engine to go beyond the limits. A push to be something else.
A celebration of the mainstream that feeds and moves us, despite our will.
